UPDATED CLASS SCHEDULE - 7/17/10

 

7 week Beginner's Series: held weekly on Mondays from 6:45 to 8pm, Mon Aug 2nd to Mon Sept 20th (there will be no class Mon Sept 6th) @ Neighborhood House Community Center - 29 S. Mills. If you are interested please email CapoeiraAngolaMadison@Gmail.com or call with your name, email & phone #. While registration is requested, Beginners can feel free to show up at the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd class of any Beginner's Series. Cost for the entire series is $30-$50 sliding scale donation due at first class. Youth who are comfortable learning with adults are also welcome in our Beginner's Series'.

If these dates / times don't work for you please email us with your preferences so we can schedule the next series at a good time for everyone. Beginner's Series' generally start every other month. The series is scheduled for either 5:30-6:45pm or 6:45-8pm on either Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays, depending on expressed interest. If you have some experience in Capoeira and are just visiting Madison, can't wait for the next beginner's series, or have any other questions, please call Jack at 395-9430.

Beginners are also welcome at any of our Workshops with visiting teachers (see "Announcements" below). 


Youth Sessions:
We are available for demos & classes for youth. Please also email / call us with your name and contact info if you'd like to know more about upcoming youth activities. See also "Announcements" below.

 

- Please wear a sleeved t-shirt that will tuck in, long pants, and comfortable shoes.

 

ONGOING CLASSES: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 5:30-8:00pm @ Neighborhood House Community Center - 29 S. Mills  (1 block S. of Regent, 2 blocks W. of Park behind Meriter Hospital - Bus routes 4,6,27,85, 13,47,48). See "Announcements" below for class cancellations.

Dues for ongoing classes are $55/mo. if paid before the 1st of the month, or $65/mo. if paid after the 1st. Need-based scholarships which reduce rates by half are available by application.These are membership fees which covers unlimited classes (ie ~12/mo.) & give a discount on workshops by visiting teachers.  A $10 drop-in fee for ongoing classes is also available.

MONTHLY OPEN WORKSHOP & OPEN RODA (free performance): most often held on the Second Sunday of the Month - Workshops by visiting teachers are generally open to absolute beginners & members of other Capoeira groups. Our Rodas are generally open to members of other Capoeira groups and to spectators from the general public. See "Announcements" below for details.
